Banana Bread

I’m not going to lie, I was sceptical about this. I found this recipe for Banana Bread with Chocolate Chips here, but the ingredients just didn’t look like they would make a nice moist loaf, for starters there is no flour or butter! But I thought I would give it a go and I was so amazed by the results. It didn’t taste like baking which you bite in and can tell that its healthy. This tastes like its bad for you. But its not. The chocolate chips make it nice and sweet, and I slightly under baked mine so it was still very moist and like biting into a nice banana cake. This would taste amazing with some homemade nutella or peanut butter, but it is so good just on its own.

P.S. its gluten free, but you would never know from tasting it!



  • 1 1/2 cup Mashed Bananas
  • 1/3 cup Honey
  • 1/2 cup Apple Puree
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Essence
  • 2 cups Oat Flour (grind up Oats until in a fine powdery form)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 3/4 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon Nutmeg
  • 3/4 cup Chocolate Chips
  1. Preheat oven to 170 degrees celsius and line a 9×5″ loaf tin
  2. In a bowl, mix together the Banana, Honey, Apple Puree, Eggs and Vanilla
  3. In a separate bowl, mix the Oat Flour, Salt, Baking Soda, Baking Powder, Cinnamon and Nutmeg and add to the wet ingredients until well mixed. Fold in Chocolate Chips
  4. Pour the mixture into the loaf tin and bake for about 70 minutes, until golden and a cake skewer comes out clean
