Banana Cake

I think that it is pretty much a fact that everyone loves banana cake. You can imagine our excitement when, on one Sunday morning while Leish and are I are both studying, a wonderful smell drifts from the kitchen, where mum is using up old bananas to bake a delicious cake. Well, it was pretty short lived when mum told us the cake was intended for a family friend who had just celebrated a birthday. We didn’t really accept this, and mum decided that we could keep the cake, it was too nice to give away.


  • 125g Butter
  • 175g Sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 2 Mashed Bananas
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 2 tablespoons boiling Milk
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Power
  • 225 g Flour
  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees celsius, and line a cake tin
  2. Cream Butter and Sugar, add Eggs and mashed Bananas
  3. Dissolve the Baking Soda in the hot Milk, and add, as well as adding the Flour and Baking Powder
  4. Bake for about 40 minutes until firm
