Leish and I have ongoing debates over muesli verses granola. Personally, I prefer the crunch and nutiness of a good granola, and I even find Leish stealing handfuls of my granola.

Measurements aren’t that important in making granola, feel free to add different nuts and dried fruit to suit your taste. Each batch of my granola is always different!


  • 4 cups Rolled Oats
  • Apple Puree (2 apples diced and boiled with a little water until soft)
  • Handful of Pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds or sunflower seeds
  • 2 teaspoons Cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground Ginger
  • 1/4 cup Maple Syrup
  • 4 tablespoons runny Honey
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Essence
  • 1 cup Almonds
  • Handful of brazil and macadamia nuts
  • Handful of coconut threads
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup dried Cranberries

Mix all ingredients apart from Cranberries in a large mixing bowl


Spread evenly over a roasting tray and put into an oven heated to 170 degrees


Every 5-10 minutes take out of the oven to mix around, making sure the granola is cooked evenly. Cook until golden brown (should take about 40 minutes)
